A delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) under Ahmed Megdalani conferred on Wednesday with Syrian Minister of Social Affairs Rima al Qaderi on means of improving services presented to Palestinians living in refugee camps in Syria.

The meeting took place at the premises of the Syrian Social Affairs Ministry in Damascus in the presence of Palestinian Ambassador to Syria Mahmoud al Khaledi, and Director of the PLO Political Department Ambassador Anwar Abdel Hadi and other diplomats.

In statements to Palestinian media, Magdalani said talks are still under way to form a cell to handle crises in light of an agreement signed between Syria, the office of UN Representative De Mastura and some armed groups in southern Damascus, a matter which could cause a breakthrough in the conditions of refugees at Yarmouk camp.

The Syrian minister, for her part, asserted that the Syrian government was keen on presenting all necessary facilities to allow humanitarian and food supplies to the Palestinian refugee camps to alleviate their burdens as a result of the Syrian crisis.
