Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Saturday directed the committee tasked with drafting a law on the division of the constituencies of the parliamentary elections to introduce amendments to the House of Representatives law.
The move was taken after the Supreme Constitutional Court ruled that Article 8 of the House of Representatives Law, which bans citizens holding double nationality from running in parliamentary elections, is unconstitutional.
The committee will hold a meeting on Sunday to start the measure of introducing amendments, said Transitional Justice Minister Ibrahim el Heneidy.
On March 1, the Supreme Constitutional Court annulled Article 3 of the electoral constituencies, suspending the polls that were scheduled to be held in March and April.
