Cairo - MENA
Minister of Urban Development Laila Iskander has said she discussed with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab the ministry's plan to upgrade shanty towns and recycle rubbish and construction waste.
"The ministry deals with three main issues to improve the slums: developing unsafe and unplanned areas and street vending," she pointed out.
A six-month plan was proposed to develop 89 areas nationwide, she added.
Iskandar said the ministry seeks to establish a comprehensive project to recycle rubbish and construction waste, noting that she would contact ministries concerned in this regard.
