Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Monday visited Assiut's Hawatika, one of the most impoverished villages in the country, promising to meet their demands for better water and health services.

More than 54,000 people are living in the village.

Before visiting Hawatika, Mahlab inspected nearby Menqabad, which is also one of the poorest villages in Egypt.
