A police commissioner, 58, was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him outside his home while coming back from work.

Fayyoum Security Director General Yunis Al Gaher received a report on the attack and the injured was moved to the police hospital in Cairo as he suffered serious wounds.

The prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
