Borg el Arab International Airport authorities on Friday foiled four attempts to smuggle a huge amount of banned agricultural pesticides and cell phones.

The first attempt was made by an Egyptian passenger who was hiding 316 bottles of pesticide.

In the three other incidents, smuggled smart phones were seized out of bags held by passengers coming from Saudi Arabia, an official at the airport said.

Investigations into the incidents were launched.
