A police officer at a Cairo police station is under investigations into the circumstances of the death of a suspect after he was arrested, a security source said on Friday.

Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar ordered the ministry' inspection and control sector to present the results of the investigations to him once they are over, the source said in statements to MENA.

The Public Prosecution is also investigating the incident, the source added.

Investigations with the officer are transparent and if he is convicted, all legal measures will be taken against him, the source asserted.

"No wrongdoer will be covered up," the source said.
