A Central Security Forces vehicle assigned with securing the embassies’ area in Garden City district of Downtown Cairo caught fire after a gas launcher inside the car got ignited.
The incident sparked a limited fire. The flames caused gas launchers present inside the vehicle to turn on and fire their ammo, an official security source said.
Civil defense forces put out the fire, the source said, adding that no casualties were reported.
