A police conscript was killed and three others were wounded when gunmen opened fire at a police vehicle on Fayyoum-Cairo road on Saturday.

Police cordoned off the area and security measures have been tightened along the road as the search for perpetrators started.

The dead conscript has been identified as Mohamed el Sayyed Abdel Aal.

The injured policemen are Sayyed Ahmed, Hamada Dahy and Hassan Thabet, all of whom were moved to the Fayyoum General Hospital.
