The public prosecution in Fayoum held a policeman and a non-commissioned police officer for four days pending investigations into charges of overlooking traffic violations.

The pair had been assigned to monitor traffic on the western Cairo-Assiut highway but they turned a blind eye to violations and would not write traffic tickets, according to investigations.
