Pope Tawadros II said Egyptians live in a state of cohesion and unity, paying tribute to President Fatah El Sisi for promoting this spirit within the nation.

In a word at Matrouh City Hall Wednesday evening, Tawadros advised using term of "national amity" rather than "national unity" to describe the relationship among the people of Egypt.

"Our love will always remain for God then to the nation," the pontiff said.

He called for teaching children values of love and tolerance since the start.
