Pope Tawadros II led a Mass marking the Feast of Annunciation at Mary Gerges Church late on Wednesday. 

Many bishops and lawmakers attended the mass in which the pontiff criticized homosexual marriages that were allowed in the West, urging the attendees to pray, fast and worship God more.

The feast commemorates the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, during which he informed her that she would be the mother of Jesus Christ. 

It is celebrated on April 7 each year
