A senior Kuwaiti official on Tuesday lauded ties with Bahrain saying bilateral cooperation has been noticeably progressing on all levels.
Director of the GCC Department at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Nasser Al-Mezyen made the statement at the preparatory meeting for the 8th Kuwaiti-Bahraini Joint Higher Committee in Manama today.
He expressed hope the meeting would help realize expectations in harder work to explore more opportunities for bolstering bilateral ties and strategic partnership.
Al-Mezyen also congratulated the Kingdom on the 43rd National Day and the 15th anniversary of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's ascending to the throne, paying tribute to the Kingdom's achievements in all fields.
Today's meeting was also attended by representatives of official and non-governmental bodies.
The meeting aims at enhancing bilateral ties to the elevated level aspired by their leaders, Undersecretary of Bahrain's Foreign Ministry for Regional Affairs and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Hamad Al-Amri said.
It also goes in line with the principles and targets of the GCC that stress bilateral cooperation and coordination among the member states in all fields, he added.
Al-Amri emphasized that the meeting comes amid political and economic challenges sweeping the region.
The meeting tackles bilateral political, diplomatic, economic, media, health and power cooperation, among others.
A report is to be submitted to Wednesday's Higher Committee meeting to be co-chaired by Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa .
