Cairo - MENA
The presidential council of the Egyptian Front Coalition will convene its weekly meeting on Wednesday to discuss the latest political developments after the Conference Party and Tagammu Party have agreed in principle to join the Front.
The meeting will focus on plans of the media and elections committees, said Naguie el Shehabi, a member of the presidential council, in statements Monday.
He touched upon an approach to task members of the council with managing important committees just to save time.
Members of the disbanded National Democratic Party, who have joined the Front, should meet terms set by the front to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Shehabi said.
Candidates running under the front should have good conduct records, previous parliamentary experience and financial potentials, Shehabi said, adding they should also be popular in areas of their constituencies.
None of the Front's candidates should have landed prison sentences or been accused of financial corruption, Shehabi further said.
He made it clear that a very few members of the dissolved NDP are in the Front's lists.
