Prime Minister Sherif Ismail presided on Thursday a meeting with iron and steel Egyptian manufacturers.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of investment, petroleum, trade and industry.

The prime minister, at the beginning of the meeting, highlighted the government's keenness on developing industry.

He pointed out to the efforts exerted to lure more investments in all fields with the purpose of pushing development process forward, increasing growth rate, providing more job opportunities as well as supporting the national products.

In statements, Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Hossam al Qaweish said that the prime minister confirmed the vital role played by the iron and steel manufacturing in development, reconstruction as well as the national projects all over the country.

Ismail discussed a number of suggestions that can contribute to upgrading this important industry in line with the latest international standards, added the spokesman.
