A primitive bomb went off late Monday at a reserve power transformer located behind Nasr City Company for Housing and Construction in Cairo's district of Nasr City, with no injuries reported, according to a security source.

In statements to MENA, the source said civil defense chamber received a report that an explosion occurred at Youssef Abbas Street in Nasr City.

Bomb experts rushed to the reported scene to comb the area and its surroundings.

The security source asserted that the blast did not cause a power outage in the district.
