A primitive bomb went off early Tuesday in the vicinity of Fayyoum police station, with no injuries reported.

Assistant Interior Minister for Fayyoum Security Nasser el Abd received a report on the explosion in a main street near Fayyoum bridge.

Bomb experts and civil defense troops rushed to the scene of the blast to comb the area.

The blast damaged three vehicles parked at the site.

The prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
