Cairo - MENA
The public prosecution received on Tuesday a report by the forensic medicine department over the death of activist Shimaa el Sabagh, who was shot dead in a protest on Saturday.
The report said the slain Egyptian activist, who was a member of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party, was shot in the back with birdshot at a distance of three to eight meters.
The bullet hit the heart, causing the lungs to be damaged, according to the report.
Prosecutors, meanwhile, moved to the scene and listened to eyewitnesses, who said that the slain activist was carried to a coffee shop, where she continued bleeding for almost 30 minutes.
Afterwards, she was carried to hospital, the eyewitnesses added.
