Prosecutor general Hesham Barakat ordered a probe into the explosion which hit central Cairo Monday.
A team of investigations already arrived at the scene accompanied by a squad of bomb-disposal experts.
The latest figure issued by the Ministry of Health affirmed that 11 people including policemen were wounded in the explosion.
