The Kafr el Sheikh Prosecution started Sunday investigations into the deaths of 15 people on board a ferryboat that sank on Thursday night in Kafr El Sheikh governorate.

The prosecution started investigations with members of the committee responsible of the ferryboats of the Nile River in the governorate.

On Thursday, a ferryboat carrying 17 people sank in the Nile River in Kafr el Sheikh, leaving 15 dead, while three were rescued.

The ferry was transferring people between two towns in Kafr el Sheikh and Behaira governorates when the accident occurred.
