The public prosecution launched on Thursday a probe into an accident which occurred after a freight train derailed and collided with a vehicle on the Ein el Sokhna-Suez road late on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses gave their testimonies about the accident, which left two persons, including the train driver, injured.

The accident was blamed on the worker responsible for the railway crossing.

The accident did not affect the traffic flow, a security source said.
