Cairo - MENA
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted that the Qatari moves should turn into practical steps that come in line within the framework of overall Arab policies.
In response to questions by diplomatic journalists on the occasion of the New Year, Shoukry said Egypt and Qatar have a common resolve to overcome crises and build bridges of interaction. Therefore, the Qatari moves should turn into practical steps that come in line the general Arab framework, he added.
All Arab countries, including the Arab Maghreb and Sudan, are backing Egypt's track towards achieving a stable political, economic and social system that could contribute to the stability of the Arab region, he explained.
Concerning Turkey, the Egyptian top diplomat said Cairo has never initiated any negative position towards Turkey. In the meantime, there are conflicting messages that come from Turkey, he said, noting that such Turkish stances were the main reasons behind Turkey's losing its seat at the UN Security Council.
No doubt that Turkey's politics can never achieve rapprochement between the two countries, he explained, but in the meantime Cairo is ready to take a different turn when there is a change in Ankara's policies towards Egypt.
