HE the Foreign Minister Dr. Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah received a telephone call from UN Secretary- General Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura this evening.

During the contact they discussed efforts and consultations aimed to reach a settlement to the Syrian crisis through Geneva III Conference.

HE Al Attiyah stressed that any solution to the Syrian crisis should be based on the Geneva I Conference.

He also underlined that the Syrian people should be enabled to set up a transitional government authority bringing together the entire Syrian spectrum with full powers to maintain the state's institutions and save the remainder of Syria.
