Rafah - Arab Today
The Rafah border terminal with the Gaza Strip remained open on both sides Wednesday for the second day in a row to let in Gaza pilgrims traveling for hajj (pilgrimage) this year, a source at the crossing said.
Up to 1,514 pilgrims from the coastal enclave have crossed the terminal on their way to Cairo Airport where they will fly to Saudi Arabia to perform the hajj rituals.
Rafah border terminal was shut down by Egyptian authorities in the wake of the terrorist attack on October 24 but from now and then it is being opened exceptionally to let in stranded people and humanitarian cases.
The North Sinai attack left over 30 security personnel dead.
