Cairo - MENA
The Red Sea Ports Authority stepped up security measures in all ports after the Damietta Port attack.
All port workers are frisked before their entrance and passengers' luggage go through bomb-detection devices, authority spokesman Abdel-Rehim Mostafa said.
He urged all workers to cooperate with security bodies in this regard, adding that Transport Minister Hani Dahi had ordered tightening security measures in Red Sea ports.
On Wednesday, a number of boats opened fire at an Egyptian warship during a training mission off Damietta's coast.
