Egypt's resigned agriculture minister Salah Helal has been remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigations over corruption charges.
On Monday, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab accepted the resignation of Helal upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Helal was arrested later by the Administrative Control Authority over corruption allegations just after his resignation was accepted.
Helal is accused of being involved in a major corruption case in the agriculture ministry.
