Cairo - Arab Today
Cairo Criminal Court delayed on Sunday the retrial of steel tycoon Ahmed Ezz and others to November 9 on charge of profiteering and squandering public funds.
Ezz is charged also with making illegitimate gains of about five billion Egyptian pounds.
The court took the decision to allow a previously-formed committee to finish examining the cases papers and pass its technical viewpoint regarding the case.
In December, the Cassation Court annulled a previous verdict sentencing Ezz to 37 years in prison and fining him about 590 million pounds for selling Dekheila products to his steel company at below market prices and funneling its debt into the state-owned company.
