Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed here on Monday with Palestinian president's special envoy Ahmed Majdalani the current situation in the Palestinian territories and means to ease tension with Israel.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa as well as the Syrian crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by Sputnik International.

They stressed the necessity of unifying international efforts to fight Daesh and other terrorist groups in conjunction with launching a political settlement among the Syrian parties.
