Founder of the Popular Current Hamdeen Sabahi has said that an Egyptian truce initiative is the only practical solution to the Gaza crisis.
This came during his visit to the Palestinian embassy in Cairo to express his support and solidarity with the Palestinian people for their heroic struggle against Israel.
Sabahi added that the Palestinian leadership and factions realize that Gaza's crisis could not be solved without an Egyptian intervention.
He also called on all Palestinian factions to unite during such a critical phase.
Sabahi, a former presidential candidate, asserted that the Palestinian cause had always topped Egypt's priorities.
"Israel is Egypt's strategic enemy and a permanent threat on its borders," he added.
