The Egypt-Libya border crossing of Salloum was closed on both direction upon a request from the Libyan authorities for security fears, said Matrouh security chief el-Anani Hamouda.
In press statements on Monday, Hamouda said that coordination is underway with traffic authorities to inform drivers heading to the terminal of the new measures.
