Cairo - MENA
Ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia stand as an ideal model for relations among countries, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan said on Thursday.
During a lecture at Nasser Military Academy, Qattan said the Saudi-Egyptian ties are deeply-rooted and based on mutual respect and common interests.
"Ties between the two countries have not been affected by the numerous challenges that hit the region over the past decades," Qattan said.
He praised a role played by Egypt in the Saudi-led operation Decisive Storm against Houthis in Yemen.
"Saudi investments in Egypt hit 10 billion dollars in 2014," Qattan said, adding that this figure places Saudi Arabia as the biggest Arab investor in Egypt.
He further expected an increase in the Saudi investments in Egypt during the coming period after the country restored security and stability.
