Saudi Arabia Monday welcomed the appointment of Mauritania's Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as the new envoy of United Nations Secretary General to the Republic of Yemen.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia who chaired the Saudi Cabinet's session wished the new envoy every success in his mission, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.
