The Saudi authorities aborted an attempt to smuggle more that 33,000 bottles of liquor which were among a shipment of fruit coming to the Kingdom.

The Al Bathaa customs director Abdel Rahman al-Mohanna said the consignment was heading to a sisterly country via the kingdom.

Saudi customs officials have been exerting utmost efforts to prevent the smuggling of banned goods.
