Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef late on Sunday received the results of an investigation into a crane collapse at the Holy Mosque.
Mecca's Emir Prince Khaled al Faisal received the probe report earlier in the day before submitting it to the Crown Prince.
Prince Mohammed bin Nayef will hand over the report to King Salman who vowed on Saturday to reveal what caused the crane to topple into a courtyard of the Grand Mosque.
A construction crane crashed into the Grand Mosque in Mecca on Friday as it was full of worshipers, almost two weeks before the start of Hajj pilgrimage.
Some 107 pilgrims, including two Egyptians, were killed and 238 others injured in the accident blamed on high winds and bad weather.
The crane, which collapsed during a thunderstorm with extremely high winds, was one of several working on a multi-billion-dollar expansion of the mosque to accommodate mounting numbers of faithful.
