Sheikh Osama Khayyat, Imam of the Masjidil Haram in Mecca, Friday praised the immediate response of Egypt and Qatar to a Saudi-brokered reconciliation initiative.
The immediate response of the two countries was out of keenness on the nation's higher interests, Khayyat said.
In the weekly sermon, Khayyat asserted that mending relations between disputants is one of the good deeds urged by Allah.
