Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al Jubeir and Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh left Cairo after attending the 145th session of the foreign ministers' council of the Arab League member states.

During the session, former Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Abul Gheit was appointed Arab League's secretary general succeeding Nabil el Araby whose term in office will end on June 30.
