Saudis performed on Thursday Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers throughout the kingdom.

King Salman bin Abdel Aziz has earlier called for performing these prayers pursuant to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad in case of drought or delay in rainfall.

In Mecca, the prayers were led by Prince Khaled al Faysel, adviser to the Saudi king and Governor of Mecca.

Istisqa prayers were also performed in other regions of the Kingdom.
