Scores of people were reportedly injured when an explosion took place at a checkpoint of the Lebanese army in Beirut on Monday, security sources said.
The sources, cited by local media, said a booby-trapped car was detonated next to the checkpoint in Shatila area injuring scores of people.
Civil defense and Red Cross teams transferred the wounded to hospitals, they said.
Shatila is at the entrance of southern Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah
