Security measures have been beefed up around churches in the governorate of Gharbia ahead of Christmas celebrations, said police chief Osama Bedier.
A security plan has been put forward to secure all churches across the govenorate, he said.
Mobile and fixed checkpoints will be deployed to comb the vicinity of churches, he added.
