Rapid deployment forces were positioned on main roads in Suez governorate, north of Cairo, ahead of Easter and Sham el Nesim celebrations, a senior security official said on Sunday.

The security forces fully secured Suez- El Ein el Soukhna, Suez- Sinai roads and Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel, which links the governorate to the Sinai Peninsula, Security Chief Tareq el Gazzar added.

Police forces are on alert to deal with any possible disruptions, he noted.
