Security forces have stepped up efforts to arrest outlaws and criminals in five governorates.
The security clampdown was carried out in Alexandria, Luxor, Qena, Beheira and Sohag.
A prime suspect involved in the death of a police sergeant in Alexandria was arrested. The sergeant, along two other personnel who got injured, was countering armed muggers when he was killed.
In Luxor, a vendor was arrested with an automated rifle in his possession.
The killer of a real estate broker has been apprehended in Qena, while a fugitive drug dealer was arrested in Beheira’s Damanhur city.
Meanwhile in Sohag, criminal lab bodies are examining evidence to reveal the circumstances around a body of a 13-year-old which was found thrown on the side of the road. The body was stabbed and had a slit throat.
