A wide-scale security campaign was launched nationwide to restore law and order to the Egyptian streets.
The Interior Ministry efforts led to seizing 159 unlicensed firearms and 14 stolen cars.
Also, 67 fugitives were arrested and 674 unlicensed motorcycles were seized during the clampdown, carried out on December 23.
Eleven gangs specialized in robbery were busted as well.
