Security measures have been beefed up in the coastal city of Alexandria in anticipation of protests by the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group.

Rapid deployment forces were positioned on main squares in Alexandria governorate, north of Cairo, to immediately deal with possible rioting.

Several fixed and mobile checkpoints have been set up at the entrances to and exits of the city.
