Security measures have been beefed up across Fayoum ahead of planned protests called for by the Salafi Front on Friday, security chief said Hassan Abo Amer said.
"Full coordination is underway between police and army troops to secure public facilities and police stations," Abo Amer said.
A number of checkpoints will be set up to look for criminals, Abo Amer.
