Security measures have been beefed up in Gharbiya governorate to confront any possible acts of violence, said Gharbiya police chief Abdel Hameed Abdel Azem.
In press statements on Friday, Abdel Azem said that police forces are securing vital installations in the city.
He noted that mobile patrols were deployed and checkpoints were erected across the delta province.
Police will decisively deal with any rioting or violent acts, he stressed.
