Security measures tightened in Suez

A security plan has been laid to ensure that the Arab Summit goes smoothly with no disruptions, Suez Security Chief Maj. Gen. Tareq el Gazzar said Tuesday.
Security forces were mopping up the areas east and west of the Suez Canal as part of the ongoing preparations for the Arab Summit scheduled to kick off Saturday in Sharm el Sheikh town, he added.
All the desert areas surrounding the canal and the roads linking Suez to the summit venue in South Sinai have been fully secured, he said.
