Gharbia security chief Osama Bedeir on Monday denied reports on finding a home-made bomb inside a Banque Misr branch in Basion.
Security bodies reported that a dubious object was found inside the bank, so police forces cordoned off the scene, and bomb disposal experts combed the area.
The dubious object was found to be free of explosives.
Meanwhile, 27 members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group were remanded in custody for further 15 days pending investigations over charges of rioting and inciting violence.
