A security patrol was attacked on Sunday by gunmen on the ring road to Fayyoum.

The security force fired back at the gunmen who fled the scene to nearby farmlands, with no human injuries reported.

Meanwhile, Assistant Interior Minister General Yunis al Gaher said security forces late Saturday dispersed scores of Muslim Brotherhood supporters who staged protests in Fayyoum city in protest against death sentences issued against the group's leaders.
