Police forces beefed up security around churches to secure Copts' celebrations of the Palm Sunday, said security chief Tarek Gazzar.
In press statements, Gazzar said police forces are on alert to foil any attempt to disrupt Christians' celebrations.
He vowed to firmly face any attempt to break the law.
He added that sappers have combed all streets surrounding churches as part of the security plan.
