Israeli Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal met Wednesday in Washington with his Libyan counterpart Abdullah Al-Theni to whom he expressed Algeria’s commitment to end the crisis in Libya through the device of neighboring countries launched in July in Tunis, according to Algeria Press Service.
Sellal received Al Theni on the sidelines of the US-Africa political summit, devoted primarily to issues of peace and security in Africa.
"The prime minister reiterated the full support of Algeria to Libya and its willingness to cooperate with neighboring countries under the mechanisms set up in Tunis in order to end the bloodshed and restore peace in this brother country," Algeria's ambassador in Washington Abdellah Baali, told APS after this interview.
The two prime ministers also discussed the evolution of the political and security situation in Libya, where the situation is deteriorating, and aggravated deep political differences between Islamist and nationalist currents.
Algeria had recently called by the voice of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra on the entire international community to mobilize amid deteriorating situation in Libya.
